Founder/Chairman/President of Inscape Data Corporation, Inscape Data Corporation is the leading company in the Outdoor PoE Switch Solution Market, based in San Jose, CA. Mr. Lin is a veteran and a pioneer in the broadband cable and wireless (WiFi) industries. He is a highly experienced executive with over 30 years of industry experience developing businesses for broadband networking and communication products. Mr. Lin is known for his marketing, OEM management, business development, and product development experience in the high-tech industry. He is well-connected with manufacturers of networking and communication products in Asia.
In 1994, he was one of four founders of IEEE 802.14, the first cable modem standard organization before DOCSIS (Data-Over-Cable Service Interface Specification) supported by CableLabs. Later in 1995, he was one of the founding members of DOCSIS, previously known as MCNS (Multimedia Cable Network System). Before Inscape Data Corporation, he co-founded HighSpeed Surfing, Inc. (HSS) in June 1999, and the company innovated and developed the first wireless broadband residential gateway in 2000. Before June 1999, he was the marketing and business development director for Samsung Telecommunications America. He joined Samsung in late 1996 and spearheaded Samsung's cable modem business during the period between 1997 and 1998. He led Samsung into one of the broadband industry's top five cable modem companies. Before joining Samsung, he was a strategic planner for the broadband cable group under the Networks System of Zenith Electronics Corporation. He has filed numerous US patents during his career. He graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a B.S. in Computer Science, holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology, and is a Ph.D. candidate at Illinois Institute of Technology.
