Matt Mandel serves as Vice President, Government Affairs for WISPA-Broadband Without Boundaries. In this capacity, Matt oversees WISPA’s Congressional and Executive Branch advocacy, as well as the association’s expanded state-based portfolio.
Matt has nearly 25 years of telecommunications policy, legislative and advocacy experience. Prior to joining WISPA, Matt spent eight years at the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) as Senior Vice President, Government and Public Affairs, where he oversaw WIA's advocacy efforts and external communications. Before WIA, Matt was Vice President of Government Affairs at the Glover Park Group (now FGS Global), where he specialized in public policy advocacy and strategic planning on behalf of corporations, non-profits, and associations. He began his career on Capitol Hill, spending 10 years as a legislative aid to several Members of Congress, including nearly seven years as Legislative Director for a senior member of the Energy and Commerce Committee. Matt graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Government and Politics, and earned a master’s degree in Political Science from American University. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Government Department at American University. Matt lives in Potomac, MD with his wife and two children.
